Romelda is the highest goal shooter in netball history. Her story about learning how to appreciate her height, understand her very raw talent and the steps to make the ultimate decision to leave Jamaica and pursue a professional netball career in Australia is as funny as it is terrifying.
Romelda's netball career took off after she debuted in the Jamaican National Team. In 2008, she signed with the Queensland Firebirds to play in the ANZ Championships and has since become one of the League's premier players. Romelda has achieved a record 5000 goals in the National Netball Series with two of those goals securing the 2016 Grand Final in double extra time. Romelda was named the Firebird's Player of the Year and the ofcial MVP as a result of her season's dominance. Still remembering her roots, Romelda played for the Jamaican Netball Team at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, where they placed 3rd.
